Commemorate the Afghan War Dead
Bring the Troops Home Now.

235 British soldiers have been killed so far in the war in Afghanistan since 2001. This year, 2009, the number of British soldiers killed is nearing 100 - the total now stands at 98. The numbers of Afghans killed in the war is estimated as over 100,000.

The Chesterfield Stop The War Coalition is organising an event from 12.00 to 1pm on Saturday 28th November in Chesterfield town centre, to commemorate the dead of the Afghan war, and to call for the withdrawal of British troops from Afghanistan. We have prepared 98 pennants with the names of the 98 British Soldiers killed so far this year, and pennants to represent the Afghan dead.
